With the current trend of using Ceramics as parts of the watch. It ain't gonna last like it used to. The looks last but can the ceramic ..... only if you use it very carefully.
      I will own a Rolex ................ someday!

So glad to read abt Rolex reliability. My AP RO Offshore died on me 8 months into the ownership and it took them 2 months to fix the damn thing. They said the oil dried up or something and that the watch should be sent for servicing every couple of years!!! Just bought a Daytona 116509 white gold today and can't stop fondling it...

The beauty of Ceramic is that it lasts for a very very long time. It is extremely scratch resistance so it will maintain its flawless surface. It might not last if you dropped it or had an accidental direct impact. It could crack and worse it could shatter. Having said that it was introduced for a number of years now and the number of reported or known problems is very small.

How long does rolex stock spare parts for a discontinued model? That should indicate how long they expect it to last

as for as i know it can really stand the test of time. I've been given a 1960s submariner by my grand father and save for some scratches here and a nick there its still running well. Don't think its seen any servicing in its lifetime.

Well it probably can last as long as you can. With servicing obviously.
