I think it really boils down to the person buying it...I personally feel that although i dun use the chrono, but after buying my daytona, i won't glance at other chrono anymore cos i know i already had the one that i love. It's really a masterpiece!! IMO, i think the rest of the daytona owners here also believe that its the best chrono watch everyone would wanna own?

I was quoted 15.5k by a PI dealer for the Pam 233 , 2 mths ago for a BNIB , and 16.2k by local PAM AD with ex stock , but decided to wait for the 2009 series Pam with 3 days power reserve and in-house movement .
The above price , i think can neg another $100 off , according to my pass dealing with them .
Usually its another $100 off their so call "best price" .
My choice would be the daytona 1st follow by Pam 233 or 270 next year .
So at least got time to wait for the new pam models to come in , than decide .
Was quoted 16.5k for the white dial by our local AD last mth , $500 more if you want the black dial , both ex stock .
JLC , sorry not very familar so can't advise the price .Focal JM_Labs .
"The Sprits Of Sounds".

Rolex DJ TT Grey Dial 16233

Hi Triton, Your choices here are really different. Each has a specific function the other doesn't have. I guess you are in a quandry as all 3 are speaking to you.
If that's the case, I would advise you to leave out the 233. Production is limited but not impossible to get. The inhouse movement is nothing special, its just a marketing tactic to raise list price. How does this inhouse movement improve on the horological standing of the 233 as compared to the others? Panerai has always being about the look, not the movement (the 8 days 'fang' indicator looks cool huh)
That would leave the Polaris and Daytona. It would seems to me the Daytona matters more to you. Most people like the black dial Daytona but you chose the white. Is it because you have too many black dials and you need a white to balance it out? If so, then the Polaris should reserved for next year.
If all else being equal, I would suggests you get whichever comes first.

Oh, the Polaris is also marked up with marketing and hype too. Yes, its a nice classic "looking" watch but not the "actual" classic piece. But then again, not many brands/watches with a mechanical alarm function.
From a value-for-money standpoint, the Daytona seems to be ahead in the race for me.
Hope I rock the boat some and given you some perspective.

WSSS: appreciate your balance views. u can see where im coming from as each watch is unique in its own way.
i want panerai as i would liek to have 1 in my collection. the 233 is like all the things there is in a panerai that is there. like the dome, the lock mechanism which is unique to to panerai.
u hit the nail on the spot as to getting the white dial..too many black dial watch already.
it is true that this tribute is no where close to original that is why i dont mind getting one...
im tilting towards the daytona after hearing alot of views. maybe i should get this and complete my rolex collection.if you have issues with your account, click here for self help and read forum rules here. 90% of your answers can be found in Forum FAQ

Smart move!
I have been wearing my Pam63C over the weekend and my FM for almost the past 2 weeks. Now I am wearing my 116520, it feel so good and the weight is just right. I always find my milgauss is too heavy and weight is not so "balanced". My Pam and FM is huge and looks good but to be honest, I still think that 40mm watches are perfect size.
