  • Definitive Tudor Subs

    hi,
beginning to read about vintage tudor submariners...

if I were to want to add just maybe 2-3 pieces to my collection, what would the 2-3 most definitive, still affordable vintage pieces be? And what is a budget range for these classics?

Go for the early rose logo subs or the 'snowflakes'.

ok, i go read it up ...
except many of them are really quite old by now!

what sort of budgets would I need for these models?

can go to RSC to certify also right?

Collectible ones are snow flakes or the Monte Carlos. But the MCs are very very expensive now - price same as Zenith Daytonas. Crazy but it is true...

"Most definitive" in my view is the Monte Carlo, but no longer cheap

Photo on the left is the Tudor Monte Carlo

The more affordable Tudor which is popular, but less sought after than the MC is the "big bloc" Tudor on the right. The type which is more popular is the one with the black bezel rather than the steel bezel one pictured here. The "big bloc" ones are nice because they come with a rolex crown and their casebacks say something like "caseback by Rolex". The case is also quite solid and thick, hence the name "big bloc".
