Don't think 6694 crystal comes with etched Rolex crown, how do we know if it's genuine?

I'm a little lost. Did he sell you a AM crystal claiming it is a genuine crystal or did he tell you that crystal is AM? Honestly, there are little difference between original crystals and AM crystal both aesthetically and functionality.

IMHO, unless you have a DRSD or highly prized Gilt, why pay a fool's premium for original crystal? Good quality AM crystals are equally good and cheap too.

Also, the issues you mentioned in your posts are all common among vintages dress Rolex. I would rather have a nicely recon dial than a rotten original for a dress watch honestly.

even the AM these days have 2.5x.. original crystal is slightly thicker to the trained eyes. most 6694 are at least 30 years old, it is unrealistic to expect the 6694 to come with original plexi unless seller misrepreesented that crystal was original and sold the watch at premium.
