Rolex made in hong kong

Someone told me that Rolex have a factory in HK !
and they supply parts to RSC singapore
I dunno to laugh or cry

Ya, Rolex is on the 3rd floor while patek n AP is on 1st and 2nd floor respectively.
Casio is on 4th while seiko is on 5th.
Frank muller is sharing the same floor as omega on the 6th floor to save rental.
Opposite of the road there is a gold n diamond shop, there is also a sapphire supplier and stainless steel factory, these shops are opened there to supply raw materials to the watch maker.
Just further down the road there is a gear shop and spring shop. It's a small shop and looks like our SG diy shop.

Thanks for sharing the site, it gave me a much better idea of how Rolexs' are made and how nice their buildings are designed and built. This is very good for the mental and physical strength of each and every staff working there thus ensuring good quality parts and products.

On the topic, I would think it is common for service and support centres to move parts between regions as they are limited in production. If HK has excess stock of a gmt 2 dial and other service centres in Sg or MY or TH need them, as an efficient logistic planner, they should be moving parts around rather then keeping inventory and ordering new ones.

I dun think any of the high end swiss watch makers will move their factories to Asia as having the watch made in switzerland itself is a brand good will in itself to allow them to maintain the luxury image and of course increase price year on year;-(

The watches will be assembled in Swiss. Some of the parts (bracelets, hands, dials etc) may be produce in Asia..

I am working in the watch trade and i travel very regularly to Switzerland and it is not not a surprise to know that parts such as bracelets, dials, hands crystal, winding crown etc may be sourced from Asia,... But watches are assembled in Swizerland. Now as long as 50% of the values of the watch is from Switzerland, it will be classified as Swiss made and there is a movement to push the values up to 60-65%...in order to be certified truly as Swiss made.

As such, some of the parts may be from Asia but definitely the watch is not made in Hong Kong....
