Chipped Sapphire face?

Hi all,

I bought a datejust about 4months ago from a local AD. I was polishing it yesterday and had noticed that an edge of the sapphire crystal face has chipped. Aren't these faces supposed to be chip and scratch proof?...

Is it best to bring back to AD or straight to RSC?

If I were you, I'd return to the AD to highlight the problem. It is also good to ask AD the questions you've asked. Btw, it's supposed to be scratch "resistant"; not "proof".

sorry to learn of yr predicament. if you are familiar with yr AD, then bring the watch back to the shop where u bought it from. otherwise, bring it to rsc yrself. whatever it is, dun think either party would change a new piece for u. iirc,rsc charges sumtin like 250 for a crystal change. best if you can call them before gg down to tong building which is next to lucky plaza. keep us updated of yr watch. good luck.

Bring back to AD first...see if they can help. Nope it's not chip and scratch proof...just scratch resistant..but the sapphire is brittle though

just bring to RSC to replace it if it bothers you...AD won't entertain you because it's a 4 months watch

def not cover under warranty. as sapphire is resistant to scratch, but not scratch proof. as its hardness is very high, it is brittle. Much the same as concrete. strong but under certain stresses, it will give way

I've been really busy so I just called the AD I bought it from, and I WILL NEVER EVER buy a watch from Watch Palace ever again. They basically brushed me off and told me to go to RSC. There was not one slightest concern or help, just 'take it to RSC'.....

Taking it down in the next few days. Does anyone know roughly, the cost to replace a sapphire face on DD?.

once again, sorry to learn of yr unpleasant experience with WP. u could take tom off and head down to tong building to ask for a quote...unless u could live with the "chip". think should be around 250++. all the best and let us know what's the damage so others could gain the knowledge as well.

It's like that 1 la....esp when RSC is just next door. But seriously...they cannot do anything also.Not possible for them to replace a crystal for you.

I think should cost ard 300+? for the DD

Just leave it there for a while. You'll get used to it after sometime. Save the $300 for next servcing lor.
