The main concern was the servicing charges. I got a couple of watches which I will swap often and paying 800-900 for servicing sounds scary to me. Imagine if I got a few rolex watches. Then sure buey jin chu.

Well, the longer you delay in getting a Rolex, the pricier it becomes since their prices appreciate every year! Then again, if you don't buy any, you'll be saving a couple of thousands! JMO

RSC service charges will definitely be around the 1k mark for sports models.
If got comlication such as chronograph and annual calendar, the servicing cost will be above the 1k mark.
as mentioned, there is non-RSC technicians who can service them. their rates are cheaper. however, most important, is that you have to trust them with the watch.

as for parts, so long as it is not vintage watches, securing of parts will generally be ok.

To me... so long a watch stops its production, it is considered categorized under vintage ..Patek Phillipe Aquanaut 5167
Rolex Daydate 18038
Grand Seiko SBGX 059
Seiko Premier Chrono Alarm
Seiko Pepsi Diver SKX009K1
Casio Illuminator A168WA-1U

No need to think! Just buy first! In life, don't make yourself difficult, there are other more important things to think hard!
IMO, get the watches as early as you can. The longer you wait, the pricer it becomes. Each jump is easily 5% or more. A few years ago, my TT Submariner (new model with ceramic bezel) retailed about $14k +, now $17k +. Too bad my salary didn't jump the same rate. As long as you maintain your watches well, I think paying a reasonable fee for regular maintenance fee is acceptable. Imagine our cars' regular servicing is even more costly and yet we still send. Moreover, I feel luxury watches' potential is always present. The longer you hold and if the watch is well maintained, it will surely be a good returns. But of course, it takes many years.

personally, i don't consider any watch with 31xx movement as vintage - these movements are still being used today. 162xx and 182xx watches are in this category.
but i think the best indicator of "how to define a vintage watch" depends on your collection.
if you own an early rolex cosmograph (ie, original moonphase cosmographs), perhaps a 62xx daytona or 160x datejust will not be considered vintage... but if you have a 116610 sub date in your collection, a 16030 datejust will definitely be viewed as vintage.
as for RSC... it doesn't matter whether your watch is vintage or not. if they have parts in stock, they will service it or direct you some where you can get the work done. however in truth, i think they prefer you get rid of it and buy a new rolex watch from a "rolex jeweler" asap.

most collectors define vintage rolex as any rolex watch with an acrylic crystal OR watches with dials that have non-WG surrounds (eg 16660, 16800 using high beat "neo vintage" 3035).
