Local AD VS overseas AD

Hi,

I am intending to look for an explorer II.. noticed some bargains in the forums.. but would like to check the difference between

1) BNIB local set vs BNIB overseas set
2) buying from AD vs buying from BNIB overseas (understand prices should be better?)

please advise this newbie here... thanks!

By the way anything i should look out for if i were to choose to buy from the buy and sell forum here? And what are the prices i should be roughly looking at for a white face rolex explorer II ??

this model quite cheap nowadays in the used market. like around SGD 4k to 4.3k.

For me, Overseas BNIB and Local BNIB makes no difference... same Rolex watch, same Rolex box, same Rolex card (except country different).

Unless you are a SUPER loyal Singaporean, I don't see any reason why you want to pay more for a local set....

do some legwork, check out what prices the local AD are selling and compared it against the overseas imported ones.

if price difference less than 200, you may consider getting a local set only if you intend to start to build a watch collection. the reason is that you need to establish a relationship with the local AD so that you get better discount for purchase of future watches. there are other perks such as being informed of new models and you may be in line for limited edition pieces.

also if buying overseas set, i strongly suggest authentication @ RSC.

if savings are to be had (sure enough) just jump for overseas set, afterall, rolex (or any other companies) do not say one type for country A, and another for country B

Rolex is a beautiful master piece, regardless of what country that it came from, all are produced from Swiss, price is the most important factor when considering your buy, the cheaper the better, so that you can expend your collection faster.

2) BNIB overseas confirm cheaper

For a BNIB overseas I think ard low 6k? If you wish to,you can bring to RSC to check,if not then trust the seller. Just make sure all the box and warrenty card etc all in.

That is true... But to get to that level of relationship, you will need to spend a lot of money first. So it all boils down to how deep one's pocket is.

There are people collect watches across different brands, but some only concentrated on one brand. Hence, it is individual liking and passion.

There are people go for high end. However, majority can only afford the entry level. Hence, this is much depend on affordability and priority of individual.

There are people only collect one very expensive and rare watch, then again, there are people are collecting few cheap and good watches, but we all are watch collectors.

I was mixed brands..

Presently yes, Still got some other branded watches but don't regard them as "my collection".
