    is this rolex fake?

    just saw this watch in CSI season 1 episode 12. Nick said "nice watch", then the camera zoomed in on the wrist. i thought it was a TT datejust at first. until i saw the position of the coronet and noticed a day aperture at 12 o'clock. Looks like a TT daydate instead. never knew such a watch existed. is it fake? hope some senior members can shine a light on this mystery!

    the proportions of the watch looks wrong.

    bezel too big
    do i see a day window?
    jubilee was not offered on DD
    lug holes on a DD

    doesnt look right to me. i will call a fake.

                    Fake props are part & parcel of the TV industry... On the original Miami Vice TV series, they had a cheong ferrari on set before ferrari donated a testarossa...

                      yeah i agree. but nowadays budget getting higher. haha. maybe product placements. like james bond's watches, many rolexes appeard in "Two and a Half Men", and tons of great watches in "Entourage". but seriously? a cheong ferrari? hahaha. that won't do.

                        2.5 men, usually the platinum yachtmaster. on the other hand; charlie is known to be a serious watch collector.

                          The proportion of the watch looks weird. Like what some of our bros had commented, the show have low budget so i think they use a lookalike as a prop. However, from my knowledge, a TT daydate does exist and comes with a TT president bracelet which was somewhere in the 80s.

                            yeah! the plat YM! and dont forget even alan wore a few rollies before. haha. SS Sub, Plat DD. etc. definitely product placement. i didnt know charlie collects watches though. cnt figure out the black leather dress watch he wears though. great show nonetheless.

                              oh yeah! that reminds me of what bro Darkie said about a "TT" DD. which is actually gold and white gold rather than gold and steel.
