      • Anyone know the price of Rolex and VAT rebate in Paris? Going there next week and thinking of getting the Sub or Explr. Any advise? Thanks in advance!

        • If you're heading off to Paris, its a really nice city to check out watches there are quite a few jewellery shops that sell rolexes . I would recommend heading to Place Vendome and checking out an AD named Dubail as it has an excellent selection and also an excellent display + jewellery. There is also a Wempe branch there and another AD - Jean Mick which I can recommend. VAT is around net 14% which you should be able to claim in cash form in the city rather than at the airport. There is a company called the international exchange group on 79 avenue champs elysees which will give you the cash there and then but you still need to have the correct documentation stamped at the airport and send it back to them. They will take the details of your credit card when you get the cash. They act as an agent for VAT refund companies like Global blue; Premier tax and do charge a small adminstative fee. Discount wise the sub in SS will probably not be discounted but the explorer is not really that popular in Europe so there might be a chance of getting a small ammount taken off.

          • The road which Wempe is located Rue Royale from memory also has quite a few jewellers who stock Rolex so it might be worthwhile to check around . Dubail almost certainly will have stock of the models that you're interested in though.

If there's stock it's probably slightly cheaper there only, preowned pricing there is rather scary.

I prefer to check out the Four Season's Duck Rice than hunt for watches when I m in London. xD

                  • London:- Check out Harrods & Selfridges. Also, on Bond Street you'll find stores selling high end brands, not forgetting Heathrow Airport.

If you're in London you will find that the prices are actually quite high right now with the new price rises. You could consider a daytrip to Paris via the eurostar and for the exact same model you could save easily 1-1.5K depending on the model. Dubail, Wempe and also a few of the other jewellers are all kind of walking distance to each other. If you're time is limited just head to Dubail and commit there and then. If you want to shop around in London I would add Ernst Jones and Wempe as other AD's to look at.For the vintage pieces there are quite a few pre owned shops there and from memory around where Wempe is located.

                        • Agree that London prices are much higher than EUR. Try non-gateway cities for better chances of getting popular models.

                          • With regards to london, with the upcoming Olympics, there might be an increase in demand and hence the AD's would not be willing to discount much if any at all.

                            • Just checked out Dubail in Paris and they are out of stock for Sub C and GMT IIC. They do have Explorer II and the price has increased to 6500 Euro and no discount. Still not bad a price after the VAT refund.
