Ha ha ha.... not only your ah gong didn't buy daytona 30 years ago, my ah gong also didn't buy one, he is wearing his 30+ year old seiko now... I heard from my father that a 6263 only cost about S$1000 in the 70s

That's where the sports series comes in...
                To me...
When you fly, wear a GMT II
When you dive, wear a Sub,
When you dive deeper, wear a SD
When you climb high Mountain, wear a Exp II
When you sail, wear a YM
When you drive or watching F1 race this Sep, wear a Daytona....

When you date or attend any important func or gathering, wear any of the above either with the TT, WG or YG series... sure you will impress your guests. So? isn't that's enough good reasons for you to own more than a Rolex or even 3 GMT II with different finishes?

                        I ain't a watch collector.
To me, collector is profound, he/she has to have repeater, tourbillon, perpertual calender etc...
                        I'm just a junk watch accumulator ;-)

Honestly at this point of time, preowned or new old stock are asking similar price for SD.. it all depends on your luck. For M series, some sellers are asking S$8k+
