I have always preferred the submariner date to the explorer II, and of course my preference for the former becomes more intense when it has a ceramic bezel. Moreover, I find the functionality of the submariner's rotating bezel more useful, compared to the GMT function of the Explorer II.

Will go down this week to take a actual look on the watch
Call a few local AD seem like they are out of stock for the Submarine 116610LN
Of course it is out-of-stock. Look at the few purchases in this forum for the past few days.. . It seems like everyone is on a buying frenzy recently.. . What is the haze doing to us.. ?

Don't bother going to local AD for the 116610LN, unless you have reserved one.
This is the hottest model currently together with the green subC.
The sponsor above (watcharena) have one - check it out.
On the choice, if you travel often to different time zone, the GMT Exp2 is very handy.
If you have many watches on rotation where you don't wear the Exp2 often, setting the date is a pain since there's no quickset for the date setting. You have to move forward the hour hand to change the date.
The Sub is more flexible watch - the bezel is good to keep tab on the parking coupon.
It all boils down to personal preference.
