Hi everyone! Thinking of getting a proper dress watch this year and so, trying to shortlist some watches that fit into my criteria, which are;
- Simple dial, no chronograph
- Price not more than 10K if possible, which rules out white and rose gold
- comes with original leather strap
- min 38mm case but ideal would be 40-42 mm case
- should be slim if possible
Based on the above, I have shortlisted to the following 2 watches..but feel free to recommend more watches that fit the above.
Watch 1 : Glashutte Original Senator Automatic
Case size : 40.1mm
Thickness : 9.8mm
Material : SS
Movement : Auto; Glashutte Calibre 100-8
Watch 2 : Jaeger LeCoultre Master Grande Ultra Thin
Case Size : 40mm
Thickness : 8.62mm
Material : SS
Movement : Auto, JL Calibre 896
So what do you think? Which one is better to go for? I'm more inclined to the JL given the horological history but it is the more expensive of the two. Any other recommendations? Of course I would like to consider a Lange or Patek but would hold on for the time being as it is more than 20K for a decent one. Have also considered a vintage Rolex but most of the vintage watches are rather small for me. Would have loved to considered an IWC FA Jones but the SS is almost impossible to find. Seems that very few watches left that fits my criteria but appreciate any comments.
