imho, abit of weight training like twice a week will help to lose weight too. Weight training will build muscles, which inturn burn more calories during the day when u are sedatory.

Running will not have too much of a afterburning effect and too much of it will only get ur body accustom to it, hence will then burn less fat during the jogging process.

Nonetheless, try to mix and try more types of cardio instead of sticking to just jogging. The effect shld be better.

Swimming is good!! especially for those suffering from injuries caused from high Impact exercises......

Go for long distance swimming then...best swim stroke: front crawl aka freestyle

Try to land on the front part of your foot instead of your heel. If possible - try landing on the ball area nearest to your big toe. This way - your knees are safe from harm and impact.

not sure if swimming is better. As for cardio, its individual preference. Can't imagine if i do an exercise for 30mins at least if i don't like it. Heard the best fat burning activity is actually SEX, follow by swimming... lol

Jogging is the best way of exercise and also lose weight. I run about a 6km everyday.

Knee condition should be fine if you use forefoot running technique.

                        i joined a couple of 10-21km run... mostly 10km.
normally i jog ard 5km 3-5 times per week.

to train endurance, try running in the afternoon.
diet do play a big part too, quite a number of people after jogging eat more than usual. this is not very good.
ever since i start joining those run event, i reduce my rice by half. eat lesser chicken skin and those fats.
i am not heavy weight, used to be 68kg 175cm, now around 58kg.

                        10km timing around 1 hr, 21km 2hr 15 min.
