For models that comes in black and white dial versions, such as the Explorer II and SS Daytona, the nickname "Polar" is used by some to describe the white dial version.
Not sure if there is one for the black dial version as the black dial seems to be a common color for the sports series. However, I did come across someone who referred to his black dial SS Daytona as his "Dark Knight".Comment
