OK, I can't hold my excitement anymore. This watch is the only one in existence in the world.

It's a Rose gold Tourbillion watch from 2001. It was from a project commissioned by Longines (Asia) as their first attempt in creating a simple manual winding tourbillion watch. However, due to the positioning of Longines and all their brands at that time, Longines (HQ) 'canned' the project.

At some point, due to my contacts in the industry, I have ended up with the only-one-of-its-kind watch from Longines! But at a price!

Thanks. I was really fortunate to have this come my way. I was always looking for a tourby and a skeleton watch. Added to the fact that it was the only one in the world, I couldn't just resist.

I am amazed at the movement and can day dream just watching the movement for long periods of time. Pity it's a bit difficult to read the time though.

When I found out he need the money to renew his car insurance, I did pity him somewhat. But not enough to stop me from making an offer!

If you look closely at the crown, it's not screwing in all the way, so it needs some minor repair work doing soon.
Maybe i will share this, I think that the dial is a recon one. I had 2 and they are different. The fonts are different. The original one, the "oysterdate" should be longer than the "ROLEX" wordings as shown in the pic below...

This one is the same dial as yours

Speaking of the positioning of Longines, I lament its current market position, it used to be a rather revered brand in the past, if I remember correctly.
It is one of the oldest watch brands with a long history of awards and yet the Swatch group positions it below brands it revived such as Glashutte Original.
I think a brand of such heritage and history has the potential to be pushed higher and be on par with say, Omega.

Infact when I first went into watches during young, the first 3 swiss brands I knew about were Rolex, Omega and Longines...
