Wah, thread has become so messy....
I just went to the Hobbylink website....
That is NOT a MK1 dial!
The bezel insert is a MK1...but the dial is either a MK3 or MK4.
Claiming "swiss made" is 5 ticks, when it is clearly only 3 ticks
The 'R' in 'Oyster' is NOT aligned with gap between left and right feet of 'R' in 'Rolex'
Bleah Frankenwatch...and asking $10.5k!!
For more info...please refer to

Enough of my ranting....The Best Dive Is Always The Next One

My email to Sam of Hobbylink. team@hobbylink.com.sg
Hi Sam,
Was going through your website and saw this piece for sale...
Rare "F" Series Rolex 50th Anniversary Submariner 16610T LV with green "flat four" bezel. 1st series, only made at the end 2003 (the true anniversary year) with this bezel, Maxi dial, and fat hands ..Mark 1, Oval 'O', 'R' in 'Oyster' aligned with gap between left and right feet of 'R' in 'Rolex', '5 Ticks', Flat 4 (2003 Issue Models ONLY), From Y966xxx 19 September 2003 To F068XXX November 2003..This desirable pc comes with Serial No: F00...comes complete with box n papers. asking $10500..
The part in bold black wording above, does not apply to your watch.
Your dial- Oval 'O', 'R' in 'Oyster' is NOT aligned with gap between left and right feet of 'R' in 'Rolex'
Your dial - Clearly 3 Ticks, instead of 5 Ticks as claimed.
Just wanna let you know that the dial is NOT a MK1...it is either a MK3 or MK4 dial.
The descriptive text was copied wholesale, so you know the website. Please compare your dial closely.
Was it serviced at any time along the way?
A F007xxx serial 16610LV, with a MK1 insert & a MK3/4 dial, like yours...can't possibly command an asking price of SGD$10,500?
I feel that, your description is very misleading to the public.
I do not mean any malice, just a heads up, as you strive to be a reputable dealer in the watch industry.
Please feel free to contact me, should you need more verification. The Best Dive Is Always The Next One

Bro..Congrats on your nice piece.
You are right and indeed the picture at Hobbylink is not as should be as described. Great for you to email Sam to highlight it too. Guess they need to relook at the pic and the watch so that this mistake is rectified.
However, I disagree on you calling it a Frankenwatch. It is still all original Rolex, abeit with a dial variation. And I believe the seller can sell anything at any price they want. That's their perrogative.
Cheers and enjoy your 'F' LV....I had one long ago and it was nice.

Thank you for your email..i apologise that we didn't check on the dial variations before putting it up for sale..we'll do the necessary changes asap..
This watch was bought by the owner brand new in Hong Kong from an authorised retailer in late 2003 which makes it a True Anniversary model..the owner paid a high premium for it then..it is now consigned to us for sale..It is inconclusive to say ALL Y series to early F series 16610LV's comes with MK I dials..Please read this interesting article:

Congrats on your 16610LV..it is certainly a keeper..wear it in the Best of health..
Best Regards

By "Frankenwatch", I mean that the piece is not original from factory. Still a full Rolex, no doubt...but commanding price is different.

But it is definitive, that ALL 16610LVs, did only come with MK1 dials....from September 2003 - October 2004.
MK2 dials, continued till almost the end of F serials.
The earliest MK3 dials, only came into the market in the late F serials, in mid 2005!
Anyway, as I said before....there is no ill intent on my part.
Cheers! The Best Dive Is Always The Next One

Yes, this I would have to agree, but I just felt the description was misleading.
I would choose to believe, that it is just a slip up. As I still do recommend friends from overseas, to Hobbylink & hold you guys in pretty good regard.
