your DOF too shallow and angulation seems weird...u shld go read abt rolex 10:10 position to shoot..

if you want to use such a shallow DOF u need tripod and shuttle release. in fact most macro shoots are done with tripod. may also need some flash to compensate for higher shuttle speed if u want to shoot handheld.

VR is useless if u are using nikon with a 105VR lens at short focusing length even canon's new HIS is only effective up to 2 stops if i remember correctly

Hey, thank you for your advice. Can you tell me more about the Rolex 10:10 position? I can't seems to find it in Google.

Thinking of getting a tripod soon

Means adjusting the watch time to 10.10pm or am when doing the shot. Date shd adjust to 28. Very common photo taking tip on watches.
                Current:
                No More Liao...

sounds interesting! Is there any particular reason why the above arrangment is better?

                  Thanks in advance!!

The date set to 28 i never hear before but yes 1010 so can see the empbasis on rolex. U can take a look at some of rolex own ad. The needle etc second hand positioning has its aesthetic purpose.not easy cause the bloody watch will keep moving.i tried but not successful. U want to do really gd shots need to control your surrounding light. Can try shooting inside a tent etc.
I saw your post on Clubsnap. There are some brothers who did some product shoot before. The set up is def more than just handheld a cam and shoot. Your onboard flash is useless. Need to think of bounce flash. I'm sure some bro here can give a better advise.
