If you pick up a starving dog and nurse him well, he will not bite you; that is the principal difference between a dog and a man.

i see, but nowadays only 'swiss made', does that mean luminova by default? cos tritium only found in older watches

i dun see the relevance in the equation: ask is different from search.

ok i've SEARCH the net and found that:

Tritium (sometimes also called triton) is radioactive isotope of hydrogen. The emitted electrons from small amounts of tritium cause phosphors to glow so as to make self-powered lighting devices. It had the advantages of being self-powered and producing a consistent luminosity that did not fade during the night.

Luminova is a non-radioactive and non-toxic alternative for illuminating markings on watch dials and hands in the dark. Selected grades of new chemical compositions have up to 100 times better brightness than previous zinc sulphide materials.

                            hope it helps.

think i know now why tritium had been 'phased out'. prob due to its radioactive properties
