I have little knowledge about this AP table timepiece ...managed to Google some information on this...the case (69.9mm) and bezel are gold plated, very heavy though. Inside, a quartz movement from Swiza SA. Following are the history from Swiza website.....
HISTORY
Founded in 1904 by Louis Schwab, Swiza SA is the biggest Swiss table and alarm clock manufacturer. It produces high-end Swiss Made timepieces under its “Swiza”, “Matthew Norman” and “l'Epée” brands, as well as under private label for a number of prestigious international brands.
At the very beginning, the company specialised in the production of mechanical movements and watchmaking components. In 1918, it launched the famous “bell-type” clock under the “Levtoi” brand name. The popularity of this model earned the firm an excellent reputation. On the founder's death in 1935, his three sons took over the reins and registered the “Swiza” brand name.
In regards to the German competition that specialised in inexpensive products, Swiza began developing increasingly high-end clocks, including by enlisting the services of a Parisian designer. From a technical standpoint, this was the period when an exclusive 15-jewel 8-day movement was added to the already existing 1-day mechanical movement. This new movement made a significant contribution to the brand's expansion.
In 1972, Swiza received the Gold Mercury Reward (European Award).
From 1979 onwards, the brand began offering timepieces equipped with quartz movements. Since creativity and innovation were the two historical virtues of the company's multi-talented watchmakers, they launched their own Swiss Made quartz movements in 1984, with or without alarm function.
Since 1984, Swiza focused on the high-end quartz table clock with or without an alarm function. It now manufactures table clocks dedicated to men and women whose ranges fit perfectly in either an office, living room, bedroom, kitchen or any other living room.
