  • Long awaited Post for my Good Daily Beater - DSSD's 6 Months Wearing Experience

Finally, have some time to write about my good Daily Beater, the DSSD.

    [IMG][/IMG]

I really hesistated to get the watch in the first place as i have a small wrist, btw i have a 6 inch wrist which is kinda of small. But i bought the watch in Jun 13 after much consideration between DSSD and YM Blue Dial, when i tried on both watches then, the DSSD smiled to me and tada, i bought the watch on the spot after i gave my Hulk to my Father.

DSSD in fact is very heavy compared to other Rolex watches like SS Daytona, Hulk etc, which i took some time to get used to its pressence on my wrist.

One thing to note about is the finishes on the dial and design that captizates me. In addition, i also like the Dome sapphire crystal that DSSD has. The chromalight of DSSD is also really nice.

My 6 months review of wearing DSSD in short:-

It is a really nice looking watch at 44mm which i really like, the thickness sometimes is abit put off but it does make my small wrist looks slightly muscular due to the shape of watch. It is currently one of my daily beater that i will not sell. Perhaps, i might change into a RubberB in the future for a change of feel to the watch.

My advice is that the size and thickness of the watch don't really bothers me despite that i have a small wrist. Most importantly is the weight of the watch if you intend to wear it daily. (one may consider changing to RubberB or equivalent Straps for a lighter feel and different look of the watch.)

Thanks for viewing this thread and hope it kind of help you make a decision when you are getting a DSSD.

TS: Great pics! Do you have to wear a long sleeved shirt most days?

Would be nice if others could chime in with their thoughts of wearing the watch outside your cuff - I tried it on and it won't fit under my shirt cuffs.

Have always wanted to get this but settled for a Sub C for practicality (didn't think I could pull off a DSSD 5 days a week).

good buy, same thinking as u before, scare the watch too big, now not interested in watches smaller than 40mm.

Thanks Guys. I always fold up my long sleeve shirt, so it doesn't bother me that much.

The feel of DSSD is very different from Hulk, so if anyone wants to buy either watch, one would need to try on both watches to get the feel.

Am very surprised you found this watch a comfortable daily wearer despite the size of your wrist. I had the Deepsea before but sold it as it gave me wrist fatigue very quickly. Bought it again, but then realized that it was just too heavy even for my 6.25inch wrist, so sold again.

The sheer weight of the case with a very thin bracelet made it very uncomfy to wear. Like a rock dangling on chicken wire. Did you feel that at all? To get round that I had to try to wear it tight, but this also proved too uncomfortable.

Thanks for sharing. Just realized that the DSSD has a smooth surface despite have date unlike the Submariner. I chose the model without date as I prefer the smooth surface. Makes the watch face looks "cleaner".
