I prefer the one having 4 watches due to the angle. The Pelican 1170 is a good choice to bring it for overseas trips for those who likes to rotate their watches even on biz or leisure trips. 4 is just nice, 6 might be a tad too many, especially very expensive watches.
very cool!!! really like the 4 in a pelican...!
can carry casino chips also!
Pelican cases are over priced and the foam deteriorates and gets out of shape after a while. You can get other brands with better foam, I got 2 free samples from Italian maker for rifles storage, each could possibly house...80 watches? ;p

You're spot on about the foam, Blacklight. I was also very dissatisfied with the original foam that came in the Pelican boxes. That's why I went and designed my own insert and spec'd a denser foam that's a lot tougher and far more resilient.
So where'd you get the free sample cases from? Emmebi? They do really nice handworked cases but didn't realise they had foam inserts; all the cases I've seen uses padded dividers. How much are the cases?
And 80 watches... wow! I've had friends joke with me to use the rifle cases to make a watch case. But 32 watches already weigh almost 10kg... a rifle case loaded with watches would be about... 20+ kg? Hmm... I don't think I would be able to lug that around.
