I am starting CNY with a BANG! That's right, the Red Devil Bang! My guess is, this is probably the first piece in Singapore as of now.
Swiss watch brand Hublot has introduced a new Big Bang watch which commemorates its official timekeeper partnership with Manchester United football club. The new timepiece bears the moniker of "Red Devil" in commemoration of Manchester's nickname, and displays a distinctive range of colorful design details which point to its sporting heritage.
Crafted from satin-polished black ceramic, the Hublot Red Devil Bang measures 44.5mm in diameter, and features a strap in ribbed black rubber with a steel and black PVD deployant clasp. The satined black ceramic bezel bears the distinctive titanium H-screws which are a design signature of the Big Bang watch design. Unique to the Red Devil Bang are bezel lugs in red composite resin; these eye-catching accents echo the dial details, most notably the Manchester United logo at 3 o'clock. Another element of note is the 45-minute chronograph counter, which has been specifically engineered to measure the halves of a football match. Like other Hublot Big Bang watches, this model is fitted with glare-proofed sapphire crystals, and is water resistant to 100 meters.
The Hublot Red Devil Bang watch is animated by a self-winding mechanical movement. Made up of 252 components, the HUB45 caliber governs a two-counter chronograph mechanism and a quick-adjust date display. A balance wheel frequency of 28,800 beats per hour permits the chronograph to record independent time intervals with a precision of 1/8th second. Power reserve of the mainspring is 42 hours.
Hublot will produce just 500 examples of the Red Devil Bang, each timepiece being individually numbered. A portion of the proceeds obtained from each sale will benefit the Manchester United Foundation which reaches out to young people through sports related activities.
