Hary, what body u using again? I was reluctant because of the crop factor of 1.6x on the 400D and whether it will make it less usable due to focal distance. I m primarily workin on my 17-55mm f2.8 so using a 100mm macro maybe to long. What do you think?

Yes, Bro. Got a Canon 450D recently for my boy's arrival. Using the standard 18-55mm lense and a additional 50mm lense. Any other good recommendation for lenses for potraits shots?

For portrait, if money no issue, get 85mm f1.2L. Otherwise f1.8 should be good enough. I use a lot 50mm f1.8. This is the best value for money lens, $120.

Hi, sorry to dig up this thread. Could someone share a simple (not too complicated and costly) set up for watch photography? I took some macro shots with the following set-up:
- Nikon D90 + 50/1.4 + Raynox DCR250 (macro conversion lens)
- f/16, ISO100, tripod
- No studio lights, just halogen downlights

Not very pleased with the results and wondering how I can proceed from here. Thanks in advance for any advice!

Thks, bro. Aiming to improve - the Pam pic has too much reflections and glare. I got away with the Patch Speedy pic by cropping away all the reflective parts of the watch!

Will probably buy and try a light tent next.
