So, that's the Master Memovox International that you got....just saw it from the JLC web-site. Reminded me of the vintage memovox worldtime I had some time ago.

Been a while since I cleared my last piece of JLC. Planning to acquire a couple this year, starting prhaps with a Geographic, then Master Moon and/or Memovox. The only Reverso I really wanted to acquire is the one that I foolishly sold away, the Grande Sun Moon.

BTW, where are your IWCs ?

Yeah, the Master Control International is a limited edition & I fell in love with it when I first saw it on the JLC site. I like the alarm & the watch is just nice in my cuffs.Too bad I couldn't wear any Reverso cos it just look kinda weird on my wrist & I don't think the newer ones will fit me as they are all 46mm, just too big. My IWCs are still with me although I have sold away many, now I am still holding onto the Portuguese 7Days, Aquatimer & St Exupery Power Reserve, kinda prefer the design of JLC now.

I know you travel a fair bit, how does the Compressor Geographic fare ?

I am contemplating either a new Master Geographic 2011 or a pre-owned Compressor Geographic (which probably cost 40% less) and know that the home time and local time operations for these are different. Appreciate your opinion.

Hmmm.. I think the watch is very well-built & could withstand knocks & scratch pretty well. I only wear it when I am in Northern Asia or Europe although I travel more often with my Ulysse Nardin Dual Time. As for the JLC Geographic, it's easy to operate & you could always tune in the Home Time at the 6 o'clock position, in fact, you could adjust it to any of the cities & you are able to tell the time of the day, it's really a gem when you need to cross from Edinburgh to Bordeaux or from London to Istanbul & need to call Sydney over something. I strongly recommend you get something like that if you need to travel to a few cities in Europe or Asia.

Of course if it's just a trip to one European country, then I guess the JLC Dualmatic is good enough. I should think the Geographic should be more expensive than the Dualtime, maybe the former should be going at S$7000 & the latter about S$6500?

I have tried a few Reverso already & they just could fit me nicely. I kinda gave up on that, I even tried wearing the Santos for a few days but end of it, I still prefer a round shaped watch. Sure, you could have a look at those 2 JLC, the workmanship is very good.

hahaha just a few very vintage Longines from the first & second World War, they are given to me by my grandfather, auntie & dad. I grown up with that brand & till now, still have a very soft spot for it in my heart. Ha, my ancestors should have collected Patek instead!

What a stunning collection bro. Always loved JLC for their classy yet understated, lasting design. Not forgetting their horlogical pedigree, supplying movements to even the finest swiss watch makers. Cheers =)
