New Strap for the Aviator

Got this on the mail a few days back from one of my favourite custom strap maker. A really quality strap with a wonderful price to boot.

Sent him the specs and couple of e-mails later, it's a done deal.

The original Horween leather is great out of the box but abit fragile after a few wear. The piping on the sides are peeling slightly.

Decided to maintain the dimensions of the original strap because I want to use the the original buckle for this strap.

The strap:

I chose a golden tan colour with natural waxed linen.

One thing i do like about this guy is that he makes really good beefy sews in all his straps. You can see how he secures his keepers.

Contrast in stitching between the original and new strap.

A few minutes with the springbar tool and some cellophane tape, the transformation is done.

I guess the old boy gets a new lease of life.

crappy iphone photos..

testing this out today. loving the colour combo and just realise how comfortable a taper in the strap feels.

maybe will get a smaller buckle for my Pam and get some tapered straps in both width and thickness for a feel. That one have been in cold storage for quite some time.
