my fascination with "oversized" watches started years ago with Panerai, when 44mm was considered huge and friends made silly remarks like "eh, your eyesight so bad until you can't see the time properly issit?!".. then along came 47mm PAMs and i dived right in with a fiddy which i kept for a good number of years before i kissed it goodbye recently..
thinking i still needed a 47mm watch to make me feel whole again, i got me a PAM305 which has fast become a favorite of mine and i thought that's the end of my watch upsizing fetish.. little did i know that U-Boat had designed a hunk of a watch called the U-42 and instantly i knew i had to give it a try..
calls to the AD yielded no concrete news on the arrival of the U-42 on our shores, and only by chance when i passed by Raffles City earlier this evening, lo and behold, a spanking new U-42 was sitting in the display case.. not to mention, it had a very nice auspicious serial for a limited edition.. as they say, the rest is history.. Lol
