Chopard Gran Turismo XL Alfa Romeo

Chopard and Alfa Romeo have joined their forces to launch the Chopard Gran Turismo XL Alfa Romeo wristwatch in 2010. 2010 is a special year for both brands as they celebrate exceptional anniversaries: 150th for Chopard and 100th for Alfa Romeo.

The Gran Turismo XL Alfa Romeo in stainless steel features a black dial with red hands and indices as well as the logo of the two brands. Endowed with 46-hour power reserve, the self-winding movement is chronometer-certified by the COSC and beat at 28’800 vibrations per hour. The 44 mm-diameter cases are water-resistant up to 100 metres and are protected by glareproofed sapphire crystals. This wristwatch is issued in a limited and numbered edition of 500.

Very nice; I tried the Chopard boutique but all sold out liao & I could never find anything in the resale market!! Are there really so many Alfa Romeo owners out there?

Turboducky >> I think Chopard Singapore brought in only a handful. I've also seen the chrono, but not the DLC chrono so far. In the old Chopard thread (not sure where that went after the sub-fora were reorganised), there was a fellow forumer who had ordered the chrono, although he is not an Alfisti.

I always missed out when Choprad brings in the Alfa Romeo range. I went to the boutique a few months ago & they have only the chrono left. I much prefer the simple non-chrono design. Sigh... I have seen some older versions on the net but didnt wanna buy as I am afraid I might get a fake!

Thanks Val, it's Alfa Romeo's 100th anniversary this year & I hope I could get hold of one AR watch! I missed it the other time when Chopard released a limited edition which was in blue & red markers. I am not too sure about the latest one, it doesnt speak to me like an Alfa should. Anyway, I prefer the non-chrono but it's going at S$7000 at the Taka boutique!!
