My father in law's 6694 still using the same crown tube after 30++ years.
Bear in mind that got to wind every 2 days. Just got be very careful when
screwing, not to use any force if cannot screw. From that to extrapolate, screw threads should last very long from proper use.

For the new type, did saw some picts of 233 quick release damaged. Well, it is suppose to reduce strap changing damage.

Yes tsetse, agree with you on KH's goods. I had bought twice from Kain and is still impressed by the quality. I do want to buy more but feel that I should try other brands before I can make fairer judgement. Problem is, the rest seems far more expensive!
