Yes because Eta is a sister company under the swatch group No because this is not a stock Eta movement, its in-house 8500 Caliber is made specifically for Omega by the Omega team ,it could have been initially manufactured in a ETA Plant but its definitely Omega Tech it was built around the coaxial technology not forgetting the other techs incorporated in the watch - the double barrel, Silicon balance spring, and so on
Now even for the previous calibers the ETA 2500, Omega did heavily modify the ETA stock movements( they are not even the same size) however in actual fact ETA does make great movement, Omega just improved on it.
So far I am loving the 8500; no complaints, been pretty impressive.
