If you examine the lugs of the 1803 in the adverts above, interesting to note that the lugs are much slimmer than the later models 18038 (1979 to 1988) and 18238 (1989 to 1998).

back to my file of adverts ,in the late 80s Rolex came out with a very special dial for the Day Date...
the "Pyramide Dial" came in black and i have seen it in white too, first time (and only one) I see big Roman lettering being used on a 18038! Here is the beauty......look at the huge diamond bezel !
