Is it acrylic crystal with non quickset date? Then most likely it is 1500 model.

You need a screwdriver to unscrew the link else seek help from any watch shop assistant.

I am new to rolex and just inherited a rolex from my late father.

    Can help to ID this?

And how to remove the strap so I can shorten it by myself? It seems to be permanent.

Correction. Didn't notice the rivet bracelet , guess you need to seek help from the watch shop technician.

Ya it looks like a Rolex Oyster Date 1500 series from the 1960s.

          rivet bracelet

For the rivet bracelet, can i just go to any watch shop or best to go back to SG rolex service centre?

If go back sg rolex service centre, do i need to pay to shorten the bracelet?
