some time back I saw a TT oysterquartz selling.

Price not too ex. But it seems that the servicing can be costly.

Anyone have experience that can share?

own 17000, just replace the battery at RSC...was told by the staff that the cost for servicing and replacement of parts may cost up to S$2K+

noob question..do quartz watch need servicing?? i have a over 15years seiko just change battery every 3 years and it's still ticking..

my friend wearing one,but his is two tone. Remember he told me,he has the computer board replaced for abt 2k at rsc. He forgotten to replace the dead battery in the watch,leaked and corrosive the board.

That is very expensive service for some leaky batteries (low quality) sold by the ......

Never seen much cheap japanese batteries leak.

For oysterquartz, rule of thumb is replace the battery within a week of it stopping. This is esp. critical for Rolex original batteries (made by renata?)which for some reason are more prone to leaking.

Japanese batteries used in oysterquartz don't seem to have this problem.

RSC also told me servicing for OQ is ex. Probably due to no economies of scale.

finally got a ss oysterquartz 17000. it was in a sorry state. battered.

original owner probably use it to do construction...

oxidation of the hands. decided to keep the original hands as is first. unless someone can polish hands. dunno about that.

Congrats in owning a rare piece and it's really hard to come by. Did the previous owner know when he last replaced the battery? If not, suggest you have it replace soonest possible and replace it every 12 to 18 months. Don't let the watch stop than replace battery.ROC charge at S$30.

Do you happen to know how much is original crystal? The original crystal in bad condition so its replaced with generic one. Cannot go ROC to change batt or they will ask me to change to original.

if i not mistaken, you dont have to change, they only recommend that you do.
