first post in the relevant sections.

if there are no response, please wait as the people with the information may not be log in to reply to your queries.

refrain from posting same questions in different threads.

as for your questions, best dial and character for a good 6694? i can only say it is individual preference.

as 6694 has a handwind movement, so be careful not to over wind. if you over wind, good luck to you and watch.

6694 is a vintage, required a certain taste to appreciate it's beauty. Color is subjective. a good rolex to start with.

hi all, sorry that i ask such a noob q. 6694 needs to be wound daily? in your opinion, is it a good watch to wear maybe 3 times a week?

                thanks!

close to daily as the power reserve is about 40 when new. over the years, if the watch is not service regularly, the power reserve can drop tremendously.

say wear it 3 days a week, if alternate days wear, you would still probably have to wind it on the next alt day as a fully wound 6694 would give you about 40 hours.

as 6694 is a manual wind watch, one has to be careful when winding. when the resistance to wind more is higher, slow down and do like half rotation. do not force it.

Is it true that when winding up a 6694, one has to pull back slightly (wind counter clockwise) with every revolution forward?
should this apply to all manual watches?
Heard this recently from one of our bros on ROC. The supposed reason for doing this is to create some slack in the springs so they tension doesn't build-up with each wind-up. True?

                    Thanks in advance, Triton.

if it's a 160x datejust, i would prefer the DJ.

if it's the 160xx datejust, i would prefer the 6694.

if it's a 162xx datejust, i would take the DJ.
