Hi guys, my dad just gave me a 6694 (given by grandpa) which is not working. I went to rsc and they quoted me 4.5k for overhaul, chnge dial bezel, change case middle and back and internal components. Should i carry on with the repair? And how to tell which year is the 6694 from? Thank you so much for ur help.
Its a black dial with silver marking.

i think 4500 is double the price of a decent preown 6694 with box and papers.

my suggestion is bring it to some third party technician and get them to have a look and take it from there.

$4.5k is madness, it's like buying every part from them brand new.

For Rolex 6694, can I confirm that the dials are only in Black, Silver, Gold and Blue while the Red, Yellow, Green etc are all after market re-conditioned dials?

                  Thanks

as far as i understand from RSC, there are only black, silver, gold and blue dials. any other colors are not available from RSC.

                    • i've handled an early oysterdate with stained yellow'ish waffle dial, probably originally white but aged yellow. usually paired with non-baton hands and not common.

I've fallen in love with this dial and it's stated as 6694 vintage. Can anyone advise if it's original or aftermarket?
What's an acceptable price I should be paying if no box or papers.
                        Thanks.

                          Should be after market dial

                          • reasonable price to pay depends on the condition of the watch and the parts such as dial and acrylic. if dial is after market, i would then see the condition of the watch especially the bracelet. again the bracelet depends if it is folded bracelet, oyster bracelet, rivet bracelet. if it is folded/rivet bracelet, how many links available. as for acrylic, still can go RSC change but need to service the watch. for folded/rivet bracelet, there may be no parts available.

as such, i would suggest you to search the forum's garage section on the availability of 6694 and the pricing. most are reasonable price except for a few that is slightly higher.
