  • The charm of a '60s Submariner

After a long search, finally got hold of a 5513 from 1968. Simple, elegant, and just full of character.

A question on servicing. If I send this to the RSC for movement cleaning, and water resistance check, will they leave the dial/hands/crystal alone?

    Thanks!

Yes....they will leave them alone....at your request.

Servicing this piece should cost between $790-$1000

Congrats on your purchase & wear it in good health.

    Cheers!

        Hi Gunbucker,

Really nice watch you got there...I have a soft spot for vintages too. For your info if you send your watch to RSC to service, they will tell you that during servicing, if the tritium drops off from your hands, they will have to replace them with new ones(lumi). I told them but I want them just as they are....the reply I got from them was, "we will try our best but cannot guarantee" WTF!

Anyway, enjoy your very nice watch!

Thanks guys. Will be extra specific and careful when dealing with RSC.

The pearl insert is definitely a new replacement as was told to me by the seller. The serial is in the low 2 millions.

Low 2 mil? Should that be a MF dial?
