  • Newbie question on GMT

    Hi friends,

This is my maiden post and hope to make some friends.

I am new to this site and is thinking of getting either

    a) 1675 (No B/P)
    b) 16750 with matt dial (No B/P)
    c) 16750 with polished dial (B/P)

Assuming they are about the same price, which should I go for?

I currently owns a 14060 sub w/o date but has seen pass it to my wife.

I keep a few Pams, IWC.

    a) 1675 (No B/P) => no quick set date, long production period with different variants eg. mini-hands,square guard, pointed guard etc.....

    b) 16750 with matt dial (No B/P) => quick set date, more difficult to get than gloss dial 16750. must be less than 8.3mil series

    c) 16750 with polished dial (B/P) => quick set date, easier to get as compared to matt dial. usually 8.4mil n above. some older matt was swap for gloss during servicing

Assuming they are about the same price, which should I go for?

mmm...very personal choice. i prefer quick set date, matt and box/paper. i would probably go for c) with box n paper. again, paper to some collector are just 'toilet paper'(see other previous posts).

    hope that helps.

go with (c) and hunt down a matt dial.
You can still find the correct dial, but it is impossible to find the correct papers.

      BTW, I'm hunting for a TT 16753 nipple-dial.
Anyone seen one with boxes/papers to recommend?

Which dealers have stock, and what's a good price?

      I already saw a few without boxes/papers.

For me I will go for 1675, the older the BETTER.

Nevertheless, depend on individual preference also. Look for the ones that put on the smile.

        Cheers,

          Thanks Bros....Kum Sia.

I love the matt over the gloss but its been difficult to find matt 16750 with B/P. Also, some have their dials changed or hands changed.

Actually, quick set or no quick set I'm fine.

          Any more input?
