i ever bought a watch and later found out the previous owner die in an accident with the watch "ON".
i quickly sell to another buyer. from that day onwards, i am not buying used watch from stranger.
also, some sellers are selling watch from auction at cheap price and selling at hefty gain. Do ask for receipt to confirm the watch i not from auction. why? becase the watch can bring bad luck to owner,
ask yourself, why the watch landed at auction? the owner comfirm not doing well for sure.
Wah, so i better put a very high price on the watches i sell since the person who buys it will get very good luck from me....heh heh

As a collector of antiques, military medals, WW2 collectibles and even my rolex collection are all 2nd hand.

In fact, even my house is 2nd hand!

I am superstitious at times too and I believe in feng shuI but I have not read any authoritative opinion that state that owning 2nd hand watch will bring you bad luck.

Bad house numbers, car numbers and names that don't match your birth signs and dates according to feng shui may affect your luck but again there are some who need a bad number to improve their luck too so common to see car numbers like "4646" instead on "8888"

The reason I bought my first day date was out of superstition having lost monies in the 20008 crash so some one suggested I wear Gold to improve my luck so I went to buy a 2nd hand rolex day date and things did improve for me and I recovered what I lost and more.

I have a friend who bought a brand new PP and on that same day lost $60,000 in the stock market so he blame his PP watch that it is an unlucky watch suay! Is there logic in that??? or is it his own bad judgement? I let you decide.

So I beg to differ with your statement above and this is not the thread to talk about "LUCK"

My friend used to travel to Cambodia in the early 90's for business trip.

And he bought a lot of used watches there.

And most of them are from the died soldiers .

        Today,he is a millionaire.

So those soldiers give him GOOD LUCK????????

I still remember the (negative) multiply by (negative) gives you (Positive) in school!
The time in life is perpertually moving forward while that in the watch is going in circles.

haha bro good one, you just provided me with the answer to why some people wanted "negative numbers"...turned out the answer is a mathematical one! you are brilliant!

anyway the only NEW watches are the ones in the shops.
the minute you buy a new watch and wear the watch out of the shop, it is considered 2nd hand by the next buyer.

all the watches we currently own and wearing are also considered 2nd hand when you try to sell them.

Relak lah. Auction cater to wider audience for high end pieces with endorsed certainty from auction houses. If u think positively, ppl auction or sell their pieces not cos they were running down on luck but actually high on luck as owners have to upgrade or to sell away their many pieces hoarding their safes or from estates sales. Also, do bear in mind that owners of these gold watches in the 60s, 70s and 80s must be very well to do professionals and businessmen, don't think their luck can be any bad! I actually traced and hunt pieces owned by very successful businessmen, one piece with engraving which I missed was actually owned by a MD CEO/Chairman of a Huge petrol chemical company against others chasing for similar pieces.

Other than the sports model from rolex, I really like the ref 1803 especially with the pie-pan dial . Somehow it adds depth to the dial and not so plain vanilla. Would appreciate if u could feast us with a shot of all 3 in a pic.
