Authentication for rolex watches that are more than 30 years old
Hi Rolex Pros, I was told that Rolex center will not authenticate rolex watches that are more than 30 years old? Can someone help verify that this is true?

Thanks i advance.
if they're unsure, they'll tell you, and not issue the receipt.
they might even hang onto the watch for a few days just to be sure, before telling you.
at the end of the day, if they cannot authenticate your watch, even if it's 10 days old, the receipt won't be issued.
if they can, they will.
it doesn't have to be 30 years old.
however they can refuse to SERVICE certain old watches due to lack of parts/expertise.
eg, they will certainly refuse work on triple date rollies...
but AFAIK... singapore RSC is still servicing 15xx-based watches... and those are over 30 years old.

Can I ask... if Rolex centre issues receipt, is it as good as a certificate?
If I have a watch without certificate, and I get the receipt from Rolex, will this be equivalent to a Rolex with certificate?
Many dealers selling watches without the certificate. While I do not doubt that they are real, I am concern that it will be more difficult to sell in the future without the certificate.
