There has got to be more to life than investment value!! If it's your grandfather's, isn't it worth keeping?

Last year, I gave up my late grandfather's rolled-gold Invicta pocket watch from the 1930s to my uncle.

This is only because in my grandmother had told him years ago he would have it when she died and thought it was lost. He was all tears when I passed it to him.

Actually, I never met my grandfather. He was shot by the japanese.

That I have to agree, but worth or not, that's what I have been thinking all the while. I never met my grandfather before,I think I would leave the decision to my mum. After all,I never met him before,so not much sentimental value for me but more for my mum. If she says we sell it,we will sell it.My grandfather left alot of things but most of which we never had control over the items. The SS DJ was one of the items, but when I come to think of the costs to maintain it.....it cost me a bomb,I spent $750 on a new SS bracelet for it last year.

              I tell u la..not worth to get a 1970s DJ....absolutely... i think 2k plus can get...but dun bother.Servicing is enought to kill u...then bracelet screw up that's another $750...

May I know what is your budget? I think at 2k n below it is better to get a Tag Heuer, cheaper Rolex models are not very worth it.

6694 is a classic vintage oysterdate mechanical rolex which u need to handwind. Very popular with bus drivers :-)

popular dials are black and gold.

Yeah. Very classic piece. Market price of 6694 was only about $900 around a decade ago. Now, it costs around $1.65K. Great collectible
