I think just get the mechanical mov't cleaned up or service and leave the case condition as it is. These are very beautiful vintage timepiece.

Newbie to the forum. Correct me if i am wrong but the 2 watches are:

Rolex Prince? Gold plate with Marconi movement... from 1920s?
The bottom one is a art deco era. 1930s i think.

Do not do anything to the watch. I would suggest that you bring it to a reputable shop to service... i do not think Rolex will service these watches anymore.

The value is anyone guess as it has been crazy for the past 3 yrs. Nowadays I am just drooling over pics for watches like this. It would be nice if i can add it to my collection.

Are you planning to sell? If you are, I wish i can get a look.

A old tread but I am back again, funny I have found the black one, but mystified what happened to the red strap one, I better have a good look around the house as we are moving and these are the sort of things that disappear, along with swiss army knives, laser pointers and montblanc pens.

I think it is best to get it evaluated by Chisties or Sotheby's before any polishing.

Servicing is ok, but then again if these were authentic pieces then handling a 70 ~ 80 year old watch would need special attention, even for servicing.

Who knows? They may be worth more than new Rolexes.

Found them! the silver one fell down the back of the file cabinet, I might just send off the photos to a specialist and see what they say about them. I will keep everyone posted

                      Vintage Rolex

These are vintage Rolex from the early 1920-30s. The gold filled one is not Rolex Prince.

                      Cheers
