It is! But what's worse...a 16710 is asking ard 5.8k or even 6.3k! good ness

That's actually still not as bad ... about 9-months ago they were 4.5-5.5k already, and new at S$6.5k ...
so $5.8k for a good condition used 16710 is not so bad.

yes, the prices of gmts have gone way overboard. simply unable to understand what this madness is all about.

No thanks to rules of supply and demand.. =(

The 7k piece I was quoted was in superb condition.

Not a single scratch on it. All birth certs and home are in perfect condition.

And the dial with just 'swiss' on it. Seems like the owner bought it to keep inside safe.

Guess this is a rare piece right?

Keltzar>> urs is definately BEST price .

My two cents worth since I posted recently to sell a 16700 and a 16710. I priced them based on scarcity and/or condition.
The asking price of the SD has shot up in a matter of weeks once there was news of it being discontinued. The discontinued version of the Exp 2 (with the same functions as the 16700) and discontinued Milgauss were never popular when they were produced. They are now much sought after and command high prices . The 16700 was not popular before it was discontinued and that may have led to the decision to cease production. Mine is NIB and there can’t be that many around.
I have to think of the replacement values when I priced them. Money can be earned but some things are not easy to replace. My wife does not know of my intent to sell these watches; she may object if she knows about it.
Having said all that, I’m getting less inclined to sell the watches .

Thanks for the endorsement. I bought them with savings from not having oversea holidays, no karaokeeing or nightclubbing, no smoking etc. Hey, we should include watch collecting as part of the healthy lifestyle campaign.

Trade up. That's what a lot of guys do...
after you build a core collection, you sell those you don't want and top up to buy the next thing.

Over time, you can afford more.

For me buying a watch also part of my saving otherwise I do not know where my $$$ went to???

Normally what I do is that I paid half of the watch price and CC installment for the other half and that's my saving loh...

At least I know where is my $$$ went to!

                            Cheers,

Agreed. For me I do the same. My watch is like my savings. And I put it to gd use also. For me,example I have 10k,I wont mind spending maybe 6-8k on a watch. Though it's risky to do that, but for my dealer,he offer to take back the watch at $200 less from wad I paid. So it's like a ATM for me,need cash just bring it back and exchange for it. That's during unforseen circumstances la...like that time I did that to pay for my stocks...last min, just clear my watch and pay for it. no problem
