I wanted to share this with you guys, from James Dowling's website: www.ukwatches.com .
He writes:" This is a classic example of the early cushion sweep seconds "Oyster" in 18k yellow gold with a metal dial, probably made in 1927.
In the original catalogue for these watches, the sweep seconds version was shown as “Special Models with centre seconds for Doctors’ use” and there was a premium of 10 shillings for this special feature.
It has a gilt coloured dial with applied gilt full Arabic numerals, there is an outer track with the seconds marked in five second increments. The dial is also signed with the name of the retailer “Robinson & Co. Ltd” with “Singapore” on the next line. The hands are simple baton style and neither the hands nor the dial have ever had luminous on them. The sweep seconds hand is slim, blued steel and an elongated triangle in shape.
As an early version of the Oyster with both the milled bezel and the sweep seconds, both of which make the watch much more attractive than the later flat bezel and small seconds dial.
The movement is an Extra Prima version of the 15 jewel 10½ calibre which is signed “Timed 6 positions for all climates”.
The dial is 90%, whilst the case & movement are both 95%.
Diameter 32mm; Lug-to-Lug 38mm; Height 10mm. It takes a 16mm strap and a new tan leather one is fitted."
It's currently for sale at about S$16,000.
