  • is my hulk real with jerky hands movement?

    hi experts
recently bought a hulk from local forumer here
but notice the hands movement is jerky on closer inspection
compared to old rolex hands movement which is continous sweep

    is it real ?
    sent to RSC for verification,
    was told verbally is authentic

do RSC really strip off the watch to compared the inner parts ?
or just wayang and verified only the outer parts?
    ie crown laser marking etc

Jerky...as in what's jerky? The movement of the sweeping second hand or the min/hour hand while adjusting.

If RSC says it's authentic, I don't see where else that you can get a better and accurate answer if the item is authentic.

jerky second movement, read somewhere that authentic rolex
        should have smooth sweeping movement

now the second hand is jerky like ticking quartz movement

Then i think your rolex is fake. Allow me to buy over for $80 and get rid of your problem.

          Hehehe

Seriously speaking. Your watch is fine, the second hand is not suppose to be as smooth as you think it is. Its supposed to be ticking movement

it's 4 fine ticks within a second, thus making look like a fine sweeping motion. Quartz is 1 tick per sec.

Smooth seconds hand, that will be a seiko spring drive.

+1. That is the only mechanical (or hybrid ) that can really go smooth. I love watching it move

I think as long as it is pure mechanical you can't achieve perfection.

If you are not immediately able to get a physical Rolex from a friend to compare you can go to the Rolex website, select the model of your watch. The first page will show your watch model with some description. After a few seconds the watch hands will move. Not sure if it is an actual video of a ticking Rolex (maybe flash animation?). Anyway that should be quite representative of the movement. The second hand is not ticking perfectly smooth to me. Have a look and hopefully you have a few good night's sleep til you have a chance for a physical comparison.
                  I will own a Rolex ................ someday!

TS, The second hand is not so smooth as what you think ... I have checked against all my Rolex (2 DJ & 1 Exp II) all have the same "problem" that you encounter.

Do not worry TS. For 116610LV, rolex is using a 3135 movement, which produce 28800 beats per hour. So if you divide it equally into per sec, it will have 8 beats in a sec. So from far look smooth, but upon close inspection, you will still be able to see some ticking movement. Cheers

                        Ticking like quartz? Confirm fake
But you mention rolex center verified it authentic
                        What gives?

thank you all experts for your input
its reassuring to know it ticks 4 bit per sec as normal
                            a bit kiasi
                            now can sleep peacefully

i don.t like RSC where they verbally say its authentic
u pay $107 for just a few words of approval

for first timer if u are not attentive u may miss these important words

$10k watch at least show what the lab did to authenticate my watch
eg black n white to show what the lab did
all i get is a blank invoice for $107
easy money to earn for RSC
