Because ceramic bezel can break and replacement cost is so high (usd 1000++?), I am having second thoughts about getting the 116610 LV (Hulk) sub, and am leaning more towards the aluminum bezel version 16610LV at the moment. Just my thoughts. Cheers.

The new ND Sub with ceramic bezel 114060 shld b retailing@$9750 incl. 7% GST at most/all ADs in S'pore. Aluminium bezels on Subs r now discontinued, so only can get them pre-owned here or shops selling them. IMHO if the wearer is not careful, then no matter wat material for the bezel, it'll be scratched/cracked under pressure.

I've read in the US forums regarding the ceramic bezel, and there have actually been Rolex owners w ceramic bezels who have worn them and had incidents with hard knocks and even getting caught in some strong rip tides getting 'bashed' against rocks, with the oyster casing sustaining some scratches, but nothing happened to the ceramic bezel. They testament about the ceramic bezel being tough, altho i have seen some comments from some forummers here about it being brittle, I think having the ceramic bezel crack or break is unlikely, given it being an "insert" and protected by the actual bezel.

I'm just sharing. I certainly wouldn't wanna be caught in a situation where I would want to testament the toughness and rigidity of the ceramic bezel.

this must be one of the greatest urban legend in rolex.

just made a quick call to my friendly manager in RSC. for black ceramic bezel, to replace is around SGD620+ (parts+labor, not sure if 7% GST included).

this is quite consistent with another collector on the international forum who shatter his cermaic bezel and paid USD500+ to replace.

don't let this be a show stopper to u. if u like the ceramic look, go ahead!

I really like newer models specially the ceramic because its nice to look at specially when light hits it. Black becomes some sort of grey at certain angles

My choice will be the ceramic bezel.
Btw, don't worry about the replacement cost as depending on individual life style on how the watch is being bashed.
It may or may not happened.

                      Just buy and worry later....cheers
