i just saw an ad from the backcover of The Peak magazine that i received monthly and there's this green dial GMT Master II, ceramic bezel and on yellow gold bracelet...very nice...the brand ambassador is Trevor Immelman...an awesome and stunning watch...anyone knows how much it costs?

I'm thinking of getting my first Rolex watch, a GMT-Master II to be exact. I have been browsing around SG-ROC, trying to learn more about the watch before I buy it....

I have this few questions (might sound silly as I'm new) & I would appreciate it if any of you guys can help me:
1) Is that a way you can verify which series the watch is from (Z, M, V, etc.) by looking at certain part of the watch?
2) Is that a way you can verify what is the mov't inside the watch (3186, etc.) by looking at certain part of the watch?

for question 2, i think can't. there are many discussion that some 'Z' series which have 'M' series dial surface(GMT-Master ll) is running on 3186.
i just own a GMT Z3XXXXXX which have GMT-Master ll surface(old one is GMT-Master II). Open the back just today and find out 3185.

Same to The Wiggle Test, it dont prove anything cos my friend's 3186 also fail this test.

but who care, both are great watch. if you really want 3186 movement, let me tell you , the eol movement is 3185.(Word from a buddy).

GMT master 2 basic got 3 colour - pepsi, coke and black.
which colour is more market favorite and better value?

market favourite is the Pepsi insert.

value wise is more on the series. Insert can be changed as and when u like.

Hi guys, me too, was thinking to get my 1st Rolex, a Gmt master 2. I have doubts and that is which series of the Gmt master 2 onward comes with chapter ring? I've came across same series "Z", 1st owner claim that it comes with chapter ring but i saw another post by 2nd owner that posted the picture but it clearly shows that there is no chapter ring. Hope you guys can clear my doubts. Thanks.

yes... for the very first GMT rolex, it has a clear plastic bezel (I think only pepsi style)... due to the fact that it breaks easily, rolex change to a metal bezel and now a ceramic one....

Ok...I am not 100% sure but here's wad I think it is..

the first pic ---> which is the 16710..does not come with chapter ring even the LATEST M series...

the 2nd pic---> All hav chapter ring..

I think u must have mixed them up...since u say u dunno which model also
