Oic. So in time perhaps the 50th Anniversary model will hold its value better since it is limited?
In a way yes, but not as/so limited compared to the "red sub" ref model 1680.
Rolex owner since 2010
Previously owned:
Explorer II(216570) black dial AN serial
GMT-Master II(116710LN) AN serial
Current collection:
Datejust 36(116234) V serial
GMT-Master II(116713LN) AN serial
Upcoming/Wishlist:
"Hulk" green sub(116610LV)
I have both, the 11610 LV c/w Chapter Ring (50 yr Anniversary) bought in 2009 from Sincere and a Sea Dweller bought in 2008.
Both watches are discont'd ald..

You never know. Next year Rolex may just say no more production of Hulk. Then prices will go whee...
Also, IMHO at least, green bezel insert is not a distinctive enough characteristic for me. Of course it's difficult to get one, but theoretically any sub with a black dial could become a 16610LV.
Now, the sunburst dial of Hulk though...... that's a different story, for me at least. Could the sunburst dial become the "red sub" distinctive marker 40 - 50 years down the road? Well we shall see. For all we know, the green bezel insert may be enough already.
