Hulk! Due to it being slightly more wearable than the clunky dssd

        i stand corrected
one bro in sgroc posted http://www.ablogtoread.com/cx-swiss-...-watch-review/
the dssd 3900m record was broken by a relatively unknown brand in 2009 (Charmex, CX)

Two very different watches but both with strong personalities. I own the Hulk and the Deepsea's older brother, the SD.

The Hulk was my very first Rolex. I really, really wanted to get the black SubC, the iconic watch! However, when I saw it in person, I realized that the ceramic bezel didn't do any favors to the black color as it makes it look greyish at certain angles, and even look as if there's a plastic protector on under some lights. But the same attribute worked wonders for the other wise St Patrick's Day Hulk. It gave it personality, which matched up well with that green-gold painted dial. Hence the Hulk.

I thought that would be my first and last Rolex (you can stop laughing now), and shortly after, I itched for that classic black dialed, black bezeled look. Since I already have a Sub, I reckoned the Deepsea would be a perfect match. I really, really, really wanted to like the Deepsea..., and I did, just not on my skinny little 6.5" wrist. It reminded me of the Tag Heuer Monaco Twenty Four watch, a big block of steel awkwardly bobbing about on the wrist. That said, I've seen skinnier folk with even skinnier wrists sport the Deepsea. And suddenly it hit me that, while it is no doubt an engineering marvel, it has departed quite a fair bit from what Rolex dive watches have been known for in the first place, a gentleman's tool watch, a watch that is functional yet civilized. For some strange, unexplainable reason, a wave of sentimentalism overwhelmed me, wanting to have the last of the civilized, understated yet bada** dive watches Rolex made, the good ol' 16600 Sea-Dweller, which I eventually did.

I guess the whole point to all this is there's room for both. Even if you get either one now, very, very soon after, you will find yourself acquiring the other, as they both fill different needs in our male ego... one that supposedly showcases the brawn (though 90% of Deepsea owners never even touched the bottom of their swimming pool yet alone dive in the sea), and the other supposedly showcases our individuality, and having a strong enough personality to carry the green dialed, green bezeled watch. Flip a coin and get one... just make sure you have enough coin$ to get the other shortly after

actually buy watches cannot be viewed as investments per se. buy what makes your heart skip a beat when you put it on your wrist, if it holds the value well - that's a bonus!

for me i like the dssd cos the green of the sub doesn't appeal but that's just my own humble view.

having said that, rolex sports model can't really go wrong lah.. but i'm biased, haha

Deepsea definitely...with the impressive bigger case which gives a better watch presence. Still prefer deepsea when put side by side with a hulk...Just my humble 2 cents opinion.

TS, you should make a trip down to AD to try out both watches. We can only provide you with our comments. But the most important is which one you like most? Buy what you like, don't think about investment. Both are rolex, you won't lose much if you intend to sell it.

Recently fallen in love with DSSD. Wore it and the stupid bug gotten on me. I got small wrist but wear nicely on me.

                    Remember, buy what you like!

hulk! coz i got one myself, but i find the bezel for the deepsea a bit oversized compare to its dial. making the whole watch looking a bit funny. juz my two cents worth

Think its the thickness vs dial and lugs ratio
                          Makes it look fat

It is a tough choice but I have opted for DSSD over Hulk. I like the size and look of it even though I have small wrist. Nevertheless, Hulk is cool too. You got to put on both to determine which is more suitable for you. By the way, I don't intend to hide the DSSD under my sleeve since it is not meant to be that way .. LOL. Enjoy.
Just another small small small small watch user ....

One of the things that bugged me a little about the DSSD is the fact it used the exact same dial size as the Sub despite the larger bezel diameter. Kind of reminds one of expensive restaurant dinners, huge plate, small portion

For TS, here's some everyday attention realities to consider for both the Hulk and DSSD:

                                DSSD:
                                - From colleagues: "Wow, big dive watch... do you dive?"
                                - From your boss (if you have one): *mocking smile* OR "Hmm, looks like we're paying you too much"

                                Hulk:
                                - From most: "Erm, never seen a green Rolex before. Did you buy it in Bangkok?"
