Hi all Rolex gurus... as I am still a noob to Rolex watches. What I have bought is the current Explorer II shown at www.rolex.com aka Official Website.
My question is - How do you differentiate the Explorer Model? I mean, there is X, M, F or whatsoever.
As I have bought from a used dealer shop, beside sending to authicate it @ Rolex Orchard, any other precautious measure I need to take note of?
Could any kind soul explain this. Thanks a million.

The serial letter and number of the watch is engraved in the chapter ring at 6 o'clock but for older models it engraved (hidden) at the end links of the bracelet.
The serial letters is used to identify year of production of the watch :
I would think that you should do a waterproofing test at a minimum with the watch authentication. additionally , depending on how old is the watch, you may want to consider servicing.
