  • Crown of the new 42mm explorer 2

Dear all who hs the new explorer 2,

    Just bought a new explorer.

Just wanna confirm that when you pull the crown of the new explorer 2, the black o ring is not visible unlike the rest of the sport series like gmt and submariner.

The crown is somewhat wobbly too. Is this normal?

    Thanks. Appreciate your reply.

Jackjack, twinlock mechanism is different from triplock as you can spot from the crown printing.
That explain why there is no O ring there.
About the wobbly part, case of concern because i dun remember handling a twinlock that is wobbly.

A simple google gives this read : http://www.beckertime.com/blog/twinl...ters-to-rolex/
The time in life is perpertually moving forward while that in the watch is going in circles.

Thanks. That's helpful anyway I just handle another BNiB explorer it is also wobbly. Hmmm... In know how to explain in word but there's some free play when the crown is fully pull out to adjust the time.

Wobbly means there's some free space between case thread and crown tube?

Yup. Like there's some free space and a little shaky. But I just handle a few new explorer. They are all the same. So I concluded they are manufacture that way. like when u pull out all the way, the crown has some free play.

Not sure if its designed this way
Wobbly parts doesnt exactly give the feeling of a good quality product

I just checked my Explorer II crown. No such wobbling at all. In fact, I cannot shake the pulled-out crown at all, it stays solid and still.
